How to Get Your Mailchimp Signup Form Code

It’s easy to get your Mailchimp signup code to add to your blog so that users can easily sign up and join your Mailchimp mailing list.

Step 1: Log into (or sign up for a free account) at Mailchimp.com

Step 2: In your Mailchimp dashboard, in the left hand menu, navigate to Audience Dashboard (the pencil icon). Then on the right side of the page, under the Manage Audience dropdown box, choose Signup Forms:

Step 3: Next to Embedded Forms (the second option) click the Select button:

Step 4: Now simply copy the entire code. If you are providing code to Little Blue Deer or your own web designer, you can paste the code directly into an email to send:

Be sure to copy all of the code.

Step 5 (optional): If you want to use the code with a Genesis Enews Extended widget, copy ONLY the highlighted code below (where it says Form Action). Do not copy quotation marks:

Step 6 (optional): Then simply navigate to your Genesis Enews Extended widget and paste the line of code you just copied into the box that says Form Action, and save. That’s it!

As you can see, it’s very simple to log into Mailchimp and grab your signup code so that you can add email subscribers to any blog or website!

How to get your Mailchimp API key

Sometimes, you might only need to grab your Mailchimp API key and not the entire signup code. In this case, when you are in the Mailchimp dashboard, go to the lower left corner and click on your profile box, and then choose “Profile”

Then, at the top under the Extras tab, select API keys. You may or may not have a key already generated. If you do, you can simply CMD + click or CTRL + click to copy and paste your key. If you do not have any API keys, you can click on the “Create a Key” button to create a new key. This simply allows your blog or website to connect to your email list.
