All That Glitters…

All That Glitters…

So I’ve never been a big jewelry girl, I wear the same Nixon watch with a leather band, one ring, and gold stud earrings. Daily lol except when I golf and I wear a metal watch. But as is so often the case, you always want the things you can’t have, lol so I’m obviously super attracted to glitter and bling, even though I would never wear it myself! I just was really loving the way these baubles are so organically presented, I won’t lie, I would take them all!

Cozy Fall Fashion

Cozy Fall Fashion

I don’t know about you, but despite an unseasonably warm spell, this time of year my thoughts turn to cozy, chunky knits and cuddly cashmere! I was surfing on Pinterest for some OOTD inspo, and I’m kind of dying over this cozy chic cashmere cardi (and the Chanel brooch, dying!). Here’s a few more affordable options below, as a New Englander, I’m pretty picky about my sweaters and here are a few of my sweater rules of thumb.

First of all, even though it’s often more affordable, I tend to steer clear of acrylic, it pills easily and it makes you sweat though doesn’t really keep you very warm in fact. I buy up wool sweaters when I can in the summer, wool is hands-down the warmest fabric you can buy and it breathes with you. And I’m also a big fan of cotton, I’d actually layer a cotton sweater with like, UnderArmour Coldgear base layers and this would keep you way warmer than a bulky acrylic sweater on its own, and cotton holds up better than almost any sweater fabric and it doesn’t pill. Everyone loves cashmere too but you want to splash out a bit if you buy it, inexpensive cashmere wears and pills, totally not worth the price so this is a spot for a splurge.

Not to be the bearer of bad news but winter is coming, but just because it’s cold doesn’t mean you can’t look chic!

Light + Heat

Light + Heat

I don’t know about you but I plan to wear all the white I can till Labor Day is upon us! I’m committed since we live way up in New England and sun is sort of few and far between a lot of days, because I love wearing white. I know the fashion rules have changed, and I love that winter whites are going to be super stylish, so even though it’s impractical, I’m thinking about winter white velvet and fluffy faux furs! I’m the messiest eater I know so I have to be careful lol. But I love a crisp white shirt or a cozy fisherman’s sweater, and I plan to make the most of these last, waning days of summer by wearing all the whites and pastels I can!

Simply Chic Summer

Simply Chic Summer

I have not laid eyes on the ocean in almost 9 months (and seeing as I used to see it literally every day as soon as I woke up, that’s a long time!). I only miss it a little bit and I’m enjoying the mountains, but I hope people can get to beach if it’s close to you safely and responsibly! And if you need a little swimsuit inspo, I’m just loving this super chic sophisticated black maillot suit, oooh la la! Whatever you do today, I hope you quietly enjoy.

Making Up

Making Up

Okay so what is your quarantine makeup routine? At first I was like, all hell-bent on doing the full dress and face every day, striving for as much normalcy as possible but, much like the rest of the world I’m sure, I was soon over it! I realized that on Zoom, you really only need lipstick, not even foundation lol. I still miss getting all fixed up sometimes though, so I was really getting into these gorgeous little makeup vignettes, they make me excited for the day that we can get back to normal and get a little dolled up and go out! What about you, what is your quarantine makeup routine?

Peacock

Peacock

While most people are looking towards pastels for their spring wardrobe update, I like to think outside the box, and I’m really loving a bright, bold peacock blue. Navy is one of my favorite summer colors, there’s nothing like a crisp navy and white striped sundress or buttondown to really get into that summer vibe, but for early spring, I’m absolutely loving these deep, bold blues paired with gold or silver for that festive pop! What is your favorite spring palette this year?
