It all starts with a painted armoire or sideboard, I recently saw some wonderful refinished sideboards on Instagram, total mid-century modern vibe, refinished in black with gold trim, and it just got me going on dark-painted furniture (though it doesn’t take a lot to get me going on dark paint colors as we know!). They seem like they would be so heavy for springtime, but dressed up with these eclectic touches: black and white photographs accented with washi tape, a natural arrangement or two, and definitely those pops of silver to brighten things up, and I’m in love! It’s really amazing what styling can do for your year-round furniture, you can lighten up heavy dark pieces or in the wintertime, try brass and pine accents to cozy up your light stuff. It’s all in the accessorizing!
