Shabby to the Chic

So, I think we can all agree that shabby chic is over. Fini, done like dinner. Right?! Well, I’d actually have to graciously disagree. I know the height of shabby chic peaked back in the 90s, along with other, more regrettable trends like those cheap babydoll dresses that were like, 100% flammable (and I’m amazed I didn’t go up in smoke, literally, from all the time I spent at bars where you could still smoke, in them) and burgundy lipstick. I had a boyfriend whose sister started up a little company called The Shabby Apartment and was straight issued a “cease and desist” by Rachel Ashwell, which, which is fine because, let’s face it, shabby apartment just doesn’t have the same ring to it, right?

But anyway, shabby chic still has a special place in my heart, I’ve blogged before about this gal, Liz Marie’s, amazing home and blog, in my opinion she does farmhouse country (aka shabby chic) perfectly and with such style. Maybe it’s because fall is just around the corner, but I’m just really enjoying this style lately. Let’s bring it on back!
