I love deep dark interior colors, but sometimes they are overwhelming for the summer months. So rather than stick to matte colors and heavy pigments, why not texture it up? Patina is a wonderful way to get a warm, deep feel but yet maintain some light and dimension in your furnishings. Think concrete, it still has kind of an industrial feel but it’s brighter and more visually interesting. And as we all know, grays are good! There are so many choices to gray paint, you can do so many shades and hues, a deep gray can have the same dramatic effect as pure black or navy paint and transition well through the lighter months. And if you don’t want to paint, natural textures like burlap and mercury glass can add a cozy visual effect without overwhelming your interiors.
