I’ve rhapsodized before about how a well-placed oil painting can make or break a room; my favorite use of oils is in an otherwise minimalist space, one perfect painting can change the look of a whole room. It doesn’t have to be super large either, color is more important than size. The cool thing about oils is contrary to popular belief, they’re readily available, you can even scour Goodwill and yard sales for some really cool vintage kitschy ones – once again, it’s all about the placement.
